How to Generate a Certificate of Insurance (COI)

A certificate of insurance (COI) is a document that proves you have an insurance policy and confirms the coverage limits.


Generating a COI for your GigEasy policy is simple with our self-serve portal. Follow these easy steps:

  1. Log in to your account at business.gigeasy.com.

  2. Navigate to the "Certificate of Insurance" view.

  3. Click "Fill out form" button.

  4. Enter the information as requested by your client.

    1. The only required field is for the certificate holder - "YOUR CLIENT'S BUSINESS NAME (CERTIFICATE HOLDER)"

    2. If you want to automatically email the COI to your client once generated, you'll need to enter their email address into the field labeled "YOUR CLIENT'S PRIMARY CONTACT EMAIL" and check the box -"Send email to certificate holder when COI is ready."

  5. If your client has any special requests, such as being named as "additional insured" you can fill out the "SPECIAL REQUEST" field.

  6. Click the "Save" button. Our system will automatically generate the COI for you, if you have any special requests, we'll review those and either add the language to the COI or follow-up asking for more information.

  7. If you have added an email address for your client and checked the box next to your client's primary contact email, they will automatically recieve an email once the COI has been generated.


  8. If you'd prefer, you can download the certificate and share with your client directly
